Charlie Puth Cancels Show Due to Illness

Charlie Puth took to his Instagram Story to announce that he’s sick and must cancel his Saturday show in Orlando, Fla.

“I am so devastated to do this, but I have to cancel tonight’s show,” Puth wrote. “I’ve been sick for the last few days and am now being instructed to rest or else risk canceling more dates on this tour. Performing for you all each night means everything to me, and you all deserve the best. I’m heartbroken, but I physically am unable to perform. Without a voice, I can’t give you guys the show you all deserve. I’m so sorry, this was not an easy decision to make but I hope to see you all soon when I am well again.”

Puth, a four-time Grammy nominee, is currently on his “Whatever’s Clever!” world tour, which shares a name with his fourth studio album. The tour kicked off on April 22 in San Diego and finishes on July 30 in Warsaw, Poland. His last remaining U.S. dates are June 9 in Nashville, June 11 in Austin, June 12 in Irving, Texas and June 13 in Houston.

Variety’s senior music writer Steven J. Horowitz, who was at Puth’s April 29 show at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, penned of his performance, “If his ‘Whatever’s Clever!’ world tour is any indication, Puth is now, in fact, a bigger artist — not quite dominating the cultural zeitgeist, per se, but cultivating a dedicated fan base that swells with each release. That much was clear at his stop at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum on Wednesday night, where he played to a robust audience familiar with the nooks and crannies of his discography, from his puppy dog beginnings (’One Call Away’) to his biggest hits (’Attention’).”
