Mistral AI has entered into a new partnership with data center platform Digital Realty, in an infrastructure expansion deal that will help the generative AI lab bolster AI compute capacity across Europe.
Digital Realty will host a 10-megawatt Mistral AI cluster at its Paris campus, with Mistral gaining access to the AI-optimized facility featuring next-generation compute and cooling infrastructure.
Beyond raw capacity, the deal also gives Mistral access to Digital Realty’s partnership ecosystem, consisting of thousands of enterprises, digital service providers and technology partners.
“We are proud to host Mistral AI’s infrastructure at our Paris South campus,” Fabrice Coquio, SVP and Managing Director at Digital Realty France, said in a statement. “Our platform enables AI innovators to scale quickly while giving enterprises access to AI services in a secure, high-performance environment.”
The companies are pitching the deal as supporting localized AI deployments for enterprise customers, and it comes as part of Mistral’s wider push to expand its AI applications across industries.
Indeed, the deal is part of a busy week for Mistral. The company also revealed a partnership with legal AI platform Harvey and confirmed a definitive agreement to acquire Emmi AI, a physics AI specialist, in a bid to strengthen its position in industrial AI.
“This acquisition cements Mistral AI’s leadership in industrial AI and positions us as the partner of choice for manufacturers in high-stakes sectors like aerospace, automotive and semiconductors,” Arthur Mensch, CEO of Mistral AI, said in a blog post on the Emmi acquisition.
The moves signal Mistral’s push to challenge the likes of Anthropic and OpenAI across both enterprise and industrial AI markets.
